Philippine Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Crescente R. Relacion, invites Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Ambassadors to Qatar at Philippine School Doha on August 8 to commemorate its 45th foundation anniversary. The 7 countries involved are Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei, and the host country, Philippines.
The ASEAN was established on August 9, 1967 and Philippine Ambassador to Qatar wants to celebrate its foundation anniversary with Philippine School Doha. Malasyian Ambassador, H.E. Ahmad Jazri Mohd Johar; Thai Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup: Singaporean Ambassador, H.E. Syed Noureddin; Vietnamese Ambassador, H.E. Le Hong Phan; Indonesian Ambassador, H.E. Deddy Saiful Hadi; and Brunei Charge d'affaires, H.E. Hj Ali Hassan Hj Mohd Salleh are set to attend on the said festivity.
The program will be taken care of by the Student Activity and Research Center (SARC) under Dr. Lorina Villanueva tapping overseen by PSD's student leaders such as the Supreme Student Government (SSG), LINK journalists, Citizenship Advancement Training (CAT) officers and other selected students across all levels. The celebration will be on August 8 at 8 am here in PSD gym.
Ceremonial rites such as the parade of flags of ASEAN members represented by the respective Ambassadors, the singing of the ASEAN hymn and a military welcome are among the highlights of the said celebration. Not to mention the essay writing contests, exhibits, cultural shows and a lot more.
This would be the first time that ambassadors from ASEAN countries will come and visit PSD. This can be a wholesome and meaningful experience for the school because it will further expose PSDians to the different values, cultures and customs of countries other than the Philippines. Likewise, this will show them the ties that the Philippines have with the other realms. With our 114th year of liberation, this shows how much Philippines have enhanced its consular affiliation with the other nations; just like what the theme for the ASEAN's 45th Foundation Anniversary says, "One Community, One Destiny".
