Pageant’s Voters' Choice launched online

Posted on Wednesday the 03rd of February 2010

Living up the school's thrust of ICT-focused education, the High School Department once again took the breakthrough of launching the school-based online voting for this year's Intramurals Search for Mr. and Miss Palakasan.

Students from various departments swarm the voting centers as they eagerly encode the access codes that they bought from the teachers. Contrary to the orthodox distribution of tickets, the voting is done by students themselves who personally manipulate the computers and immediately see their votes counted. Moreover, the students see the status of their bets because the total votes are displayed below the candidates' names.

Each ticket costs QR 2 and will be counted as one vote for their bet candidate. These votes will be counted as 40% of the criteria for judging the title holder of Mr. and Miss Palakasan 2010; while the remaining 60% of which will come from the judges' choice during the pageant. The big day will be held in the morning of the February 12 as four pairs of students will represent their team colors.

The representatives of each year level are the following: Shaira Navarro and Carlos Macamay, Michelle Del Carmen and Berge Vence, Cassandra Pallagud and Olan Viesca, Mitch Ignacio and Jonathan Monreal.

This project is initiated by the PE Department in cooperation with the proponent online voting, Mr. Junrey Barde and the high school teachers. Proceeds of this project will go to the purchase of CPUs that will be installed in each classroom to enhance the already installed LCD projector units of every high school classroom.

Spectators and the entire community are cordially invited to witness and to take part in the finals of Mr. and Miss Palakasan 2010 on February 12 at the gym.
