Kudos to PSD!
The 17th Foundation Day celebration of Philippine School Doha marked another milestone in the history of PSD. All the exciting events were flourishingly concluded.
The two day celebration received overwhelming impressions from our parents, guests, and administration.
The flashy food booths during the food festival set the mood. The camaraderie and cooperation among the parents exude the atmosphere of fun and joy.
This year's theme "PSD @ 17…Nurturing Minds, Designing Future" reaffirmed the school's mission and vision. The various activities which involved the students as well as the parents stamped another triumph in the history of PSD.
The calisthenics became another avenue for the primary pupils to show off their skills. From the colorful costumes to the groovy moves drew smiles to the crowd and guests. The search for Little Mr.& Ms. "Laro ng Lahi 2009" brought entertainment as the candidates in their sportswear flashed sweet smiles to the audience and judges.
The "Laro ng Lahi" gave opportunities to our pupils to enjoy the original "Pinoy Games". Our kids displayed physical endurance, speed, eye- hand coordination and balance. But more than their presentation of stamina, the activity was geared towards imparting to our pupils the value of camaraderie, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Furthermore, it's really worth mentioning how the Intermediate and the High School students exerted efforts to come up with a line up of excellent artworks and an impressive showcase of different talents during the Open House. The time spent in accomplishing these things was truly remarkable for it gave them, not only enjoyment but a lasting feeling of pride as well. The exhibit acquired impressive comments from the parents, guests and even from the Filipino community.
The high light of the celebration was the "Dinner and Dance for a Cause". After the busy and buzzing days of preparations, the night offered a relaxing and soothing mood for the teachers and parents. Wearing their glittering well accented gowns and deluxe coat and tie, the parents and PSD employees flaunted the classic moves of Cha- Cha to the trendy steps of Hustle. The gathering became a channel of gratitude to all those who made the foundation day celebration memorable.
The Primary Department - the proponent of the event- extends acknowledgement and recognition to all the parents and sponsors that contributed so much to the success of the PSD's 17th Foundation Day.
