PSD Celebrates “Buwan ng Wika”

Regardless of distance from the native land, Filipinos overseas still live by the spirit of nationalism and patriotism.
The Philippine School Doha once again expressed the pride of being Filipinos when it held a grand celebration of "Buwan ng Wika". Though it has been a tradition of the school to haveactivities that promote the use of the Filipino Language every August, this year's culminating program was really distinct.
Aligned to the theme "Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino", the Intermediate Department launched and spearheaded the "Lakan at Lakambining PSD 2012. This fund-raising pageant featured 37 student candidates from Grades 4, 5, and 6 representing different regions of the Philippines.Its primary aim was to promote the rich Filipino heritage from different parts of the country; and at the same time, to raise funds for the new PSD building. The contestants were judged based on Voters' Choice, Talent, National Costume, and Intelligence.
The canvassing of votes was divided into three parts and was conducted on August 16, 27, and 29 respectively. Each counting was facilitated by select Math teachers and was witnessed by the Accounting Department together with some
