"HRPTA officers are a very resilient force for the change of Philippine School Doha. No uncertainty, PSD would be a very progressive school", the encouraging words given by H.E. Cresente R. Relacion, Philippine Ambassador to Qatar, during the induction of HRPTA officers held last July 19 at the PSD Gym.
The administration, faculty and staff and selected parents of PSD have recently graced the Induction of the HRPTA officers. The program was embarked with a doxology led by Mr. Aris Madrid and Ms. Vicky Mactal. Dr. Alexander S. Acosta, PSD school principal, delivered welcome remarks where he encouraged the parents' involvement and to understand what's happening in school so they can be active participants toward positive changes. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the parents who continuously support the institution. It was immediately followed by the awarding of certificates to the PTA-BOD for the S.Y. 2011-2012 as well as to the ELECOM 2012 led by the BOT chairman, Mr. Gerardo P. Macasa, Jr. The induction of HRPTA officers for the pre-elementary and the primary level followed. To break the tension, the school's own band was summoned on stage to boost up the mood of the affair. Rhythm Republic, as they call themselves is composed of Mr. DonJohn Vallesteros and Ms. Vicky Mactal as the lead vocalists, Mr. Merk Tan on lead guitar, Mr. Harold Granandos on bass and Ms. Rheabeth Tresvalles on keyboard. Furthermore, a dynamic performance from the HRPTA was showcased through a song number humming their peculiar arrangement.
After the given interlude, the program continued with the induction of the HRPTA officers from the intermediate and high school level. The induction of PTA-BOD officers held next. The board of trustees served as the inaugurating officer of the said oath taking.
Having a parent-teachers association in one's school is significant. With the collaboration between parents and teachers, students' performance and situation in school are being scrutinized and improved. In any association, having an umbrella organization will safeguard a more cohesive front for the PTA.
The program was ended with the acceptance speech of the PTA-BOD President, Mr. Edgar Tuquib who guaranteed the unceasing support of the organization for the fulfillment of schools vision for the year 2012-2013.
